Overview

The Associate Hearing Representative will be primarily responsible for the analysis, management and resolution of lien cases. Attend lien hearings and negotiate resolution of provider liens in an assigned caseload of workers’ compensation claims. This position will work closely with the Claims Management and medical bill review teams to ensure the efficient and cost-effective resolution of liens. Position will also present settlement documents before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) for approval, as well as defend AmTrust’s position at lien trial if appropriate. Responsibilities

  • Manage case inventory comprised mostly of lien only claims.

  • Manage entire life cycle of lien litigation, from open negotiations through settlement and/or trial.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience handling workers’ compensation lien hearings, preferably before the California WCAB
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Excellent writing skills - including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Exceptional telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and within deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined and organized, with superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-starter capabilities and ability to prioritize important tasks and deadlines that derive from a voluminous case load
  • Ability to work remotely and regularly travel to various hearings and meetings as required.

The expected salary range for this role is $70,300-$108,000.
