Job Description
Equivity is seeking an experienced virtual paralegal to support attorneys in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, adoption, support, and post-judgment modifications. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely with a growing national team, providing high-quality support in cases that directly impact families and individuals during critical life transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, and discovery responses.
Manage and maintain detailed case files throughout all stages of the matter.
Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM – 6 PM).
Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties.
Support attorneys with hearing, mediation and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
Handle calendaring, track deadlines, and assist with case workflow using cloud-based legal platforms.
Collaborate with attorneys and internal team members to ensure cases move forward efficiently and effectively.

About You:
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a family law paralegal, with a solid understanding of procedures related to divorce, custody, support, and post-judgment matters.
Highly proficient in cloud-based legal case management software such as Clio and MyCase.
Familiarity with family law–specific CRMs or tools (e.g., Lawmatics, Family Law Software) is a plus.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PDF editing with Adobe, and video conferencing tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive client matters with discretion.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage competing deadlines independently in a remote environment.
Equipped with a Windows-based laptop, smartphone, and reliable broadband internet.
