As a Account Manager, Lubricant Components Americas, you create chemistry by...
- Developing and implementing regional & global customer strategies that integrate commercial, technical and R&D priorities to drive profitability and strengthen partnerships.
- Translating customer needs into actionable insights and initiatives that drive sustainable growth with strategic Lubricant Components customers.
- Partnering closely with Product Management to continuously develop and optimize pricing strategies aligned with prevailing market conditions and the Lubricant Components business strategy.
- Effectively utilizing business-enabling tools including CDM for forecasting, CPQ for pricing, and Salesforce for documenting customer visits, call reports, opportunities, risks, and account plans, while sharing insights cross-functionally to enhance customer steering and decision-making.
- Actively monitoring market trends, competitive activity, macroeconomic developments, and governmental, legislative, and regulatory factors to inform key technical and business decisions.
- Leveraging strong internal and external relationships across other regions, including APAC and EMEA, to ensure a cohesive global strategy for key accounts within a matrixed organization.
- Managing senior-level customer interfaces and cultivating long-term, strategic relationships to strengthen value creation, and customer loyalty.
- Providing monthly contributions grounded in customer input and market insights to support a collaborative forum among the Americas sales team and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field; an MBA or technical MSc is preferred.
- Have a solid understanding of fuel and lubricants chemistry and additive technologies.
- Bring 5+ years of industrial experience with demonstrated success in account management, sales, or commercial leadership roles.
- Possess strong business acumen, including P&L responsibility, pricing strategy, forecasting, pipeline management, and regional market dynamics.
- Communicate effectively, with strong written and verbal skills, to influence customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a customer-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, and experience initiating and driving new customer projects.

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $140,000 - $175,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
