Job Description
Director, Global Partnerships
X Games League (XGL) Club Partnership
Location: Remote USA (New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA preferred)
About the X Games League
X Games is the world’s leading destination for action sports, recently acquired by MSP Sports Capital. We are currently in an exciting rebuilding phase, launching the X Games League (XGL)—the world’s first multi-sport, team-based action sports league. This year-round model features global events where franchise clubs like XC Tokyo and XC New York compete for championship titles.
About the Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Director, Global Partnership to partner closely with our Club General Managers and spearhead sponsorship sales specifically for our XGL Club Partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will be the primary architect of new revenue streams, identifying and securing strategic partners for our inaugural franchise clubs. You are a "door opener" with the tactical experience to navigate complex, global sports league deals and the vision to integrate brands into the XGL ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Club Revenue Generation: Source and pursue high-value global business relationships for XGL franchise clubs through a consultative, solutions-based sales approach. The four clubs are regionally based (New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, & Sao Paulo) and have specific team-only assets available for partners.
- Strategic Deal Structuring: Lead the negotiation and formalization of strategic partnerships, focusing on category management and market entry strategies for new club partners.
- Partnership Narrative: Partner cross-functionally to develop innovative pitches and Club GTM narratives that communicate the value of the team-based league model to brands and agencies.
- Account Management: Lead Account Manager to identify and track key KPIs, success metrics, and renewal strategies for Club partners.
- Understanding League Structure: Understand and communicate the segmentation of Club and League assets to stakeholders and bring best practices to the organization to drive successful, regional Club value.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in global sponsorship sales, specifically within a professional sports league or club environment.
- Proven Network: A deep, existing network of corporate decision-makers and brand managers across diverse categories (e.g., Tech, Finance, Lifestyle).
- Negotiation Skills: Expert-level ability to structure and close high-stakes, multi-year partnership contracts.
- Industry Acumen: Solid understanding of the intersection between sports, media, and experiential platforms, including emerging trends in iGaming and digital assets.
- Travel: Ability to travel domestically and globally for high-stakes meetings and X Games events.
The base salary range for this role is $145,000 – $165,000. Compensation is determined based on factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and geographic location.
