Director, Associate Financial Planners (Central or Pacific Region)

As Director, Associate Financial Planners you’ll play a pivotal role leading a team of Associate Financial Planners in support of our Financial Planners across the country to help drive client acquisition, retention and expanded client value through our wealth service offerings and provide an outstanding client experience.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead a team of about 30 Associate Financial Planners (AFPs) who support various planners across the country to drive client acquisition, retention, and net new asset flows for the Wealth Planning Group.
  • Coach and develop AFPs to perform financial planning analysis for clients including, but not limited to: retirement, investments, estate, tax education funding real estate and risk management needs analysis.
  • Coach AFPs to master the use of internal tools such as FPT, Holistiplan, TED, Orion and other new tools that are introduced.
  • Drive priorities and areas of focus in partnership with the planners through ongoing performance management for the AFPs.
  • Partner effectively across the organization to help drive an outstanding client experience, while also managing risk and adhering to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Partner with AFPs and their planners to establish personal and professional goals to meet company goals and provide timely and accurate feedback to senior leaders on AFP performance.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 5 years in financial services sales management leading a team across a distributed, multi-state territory
  • 5+ years direct experience leading a workforce of 10 or more individuals including responsibility for recruiting, retention and overall performance management
  • Confirmed ability to lead and empower sales staff
  • Deep understanding of financial services, comprehensive financial planning, and RIAs
  • FINRA Series 65 Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; or equivalent industry experience
  • Certified Financial Planner designation preferred

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $169,900 - $216,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
