• Actively participates in the overall safety program for Sanford by identifying potential risks within Health Services division facilities that impacts patient safety. • Responsible for managing safety events related to patients, visitors, physicians, and employees within the patient safety evaluation system. • Leads, facilitates, and advises key stakeholders, department leadership, vice presidents and chiefs of medicine and nursing during analysis, deliberation and action planning of safe events and day to day patient safety concerns. • Manages the day-to-day operation of patient safety programs and provides guidance to providers, clinical and leadership staff. • Develops and maintains systems with the organization to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient safety events and other indicators of potential patient harm. • Conducts cause analysis of harm events and those with potential to cause harm. • Collaborates with peers in Quality, Infection Prevention and Control, Compliance, Accreditation, Legal and others to identify and facilitate improvement initiatives based upon findings of cause analyses. • Compiles and analyzes patient safety data for dissemination to operations and leadership. • Prepares summaries for tracking, trending and analysis of event data.
