Job Description

Role Overview

The Field Service Hazardous Waste Trainer ensures field employees are properly trained to safely and compliantly perform hazardous waste services for our customers. This role delivers hands‑on instruction, reinforces safety and regulatory standards, and strengthens technical capability across the national Field Service Team. By developing and delivering effective training, the Trainer improves service quality, reduces operational risk, and supports a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.


What you will do

· Create, deliver, and maintain high-quality training programs that align with EPA requirements for hazardous waste handling, storage, and shipment preparation

· Track and manage training schedule for initial and recurrent training requirements that meet regulatory and company training requirements

· Evaluate Field Service Representatives at customer sites to determine competency and opportunities for improvement

· Review current practices around field service to identify gaps and develop solutions to solve them

· Evaluate position descriptions for hazardous waste technicians to ensure responsibilities are clear

· Work collaboratively with other teams (i.e. sales, operations, field service) to determine needs for new customer implementations

· Be the primary resource for the organization as it relates to hazardous waste field services responsibilities, training, and duties

· Must possess a solid grasp of RCRA generator standards, hazardous waste management practices, and DOT Hazardous Materials shipment requirements

· Ability to perform field-based evaluations on staff competency, providing audit reports, and corrective action plans

· Comfortable engaging with internal and external customers across varying levels (i.e. onsite staff up to leadership levels)

· Basic understanding on waste profiling, compatibility/segregation, and spill response procedures

· Travel up to 60% and flexibility to accommodate fluctuations in travel requirements based on business need

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Skills & Qualifications

· 3-5 years experience in hazardous waste field operations, EHS, or equivalent technical training (field chemist, site supervisor, etc.), healthcare experience preferred but not required

· Bachelor’s degree (environmental science, safety, or chemistry preferred but not required) or equivalent experience in a related field (i.e. hazardous waste management, field service, program management)

· Preferred Certifications:

o OSHA HAZWOPER Training (24 hour or 40 hour)

o DOT HazMat Certification

o EPA RCRA Certification

· Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

· Experience in developing training programs and training on complex topics to individuals with varying levels of experience
