The Manager, Financial Operations & Reporting plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance within the Shared Business Services organization. This position will lead a team of financial analysts and/or specialists, oversee daily financial operations, and deliver timely, actionable insights to support business decisions. The role partners closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and Commercial teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain strong governance over financial processes.The work for this position is completely remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Leadership & Talent Development - 30%
Manage and coach a team of financial analysts and reporting specialists, ensuring clarity of objectives and strong execution.
Recruit, onboard, and train new associates.
Provide regular feedback to associates and develop top talent while embracing our core values.
Provide coaching, best practice sharing, and identify developmental needs on an individual basis.
Ensure expectations both quantitative and qualitative are set and reviewed on an on-going basis. Participate in regular performance review discussions.
Foster an environment of accountability and celebrate successes. Ensure associates are set up for success in all aspects of their role including their development for future roles.
Ability to manage a larger team with varying skill levels from people managers to entry level individual contributors.
Ensure established training protocols are delivered for cross-training support work and standardized processes for absorbing new work into the shared services model.
Motivate team and set aspirational goals through departmental leadership, meetings, and one on one communications.
Financial Operations Management - 25%
Oversee daily financial operations, reconciliations, transaction processing, and compliance activities.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Monitor KPIs related to financial accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency; implement corrective actions as needed.
Manage workload distribution and capacity planning to meet business priorities.
Reporting & Analytics Execution - 20%
Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Deliver reporting packages, dashboards, and performance metrics that inform key business decisions.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable analytics, particularly in areas impacting financial close and operational performance.
Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
Data Governance & Continuous Improvement - 15%
Support implementation of financial governance policies and ensure compliance with data quality standards.
Identify and implement opportunities for standardization, automation, and process improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in or lead projects tied to functional goals, including system upgrades and reporting enhancements.
Stakeholder Engagement - 10%
Serve as a liaison between Finance, Operations, and other business units, translating needs into scalable solutions.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to align on priorities and requirements.
Personal Development - 5%
Update your personal IDP and prepare for check-ins with your leaders.
Engage in formal US Foods performance management process.
Strive to learn and benchmark against industry trends. Be engaged in industry peer groups.
Pursue other personal learning and development initiatives (ex – LinkedIn learning, membership in ERGs, etc.)
SUPERVISION:
Directly supervises 10-15 team members.
May serve as dotted-line lead to offshore or Managed Services resources.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Finance, Accounting, SBS Functions, IT, Commercial Teams, Operations, Supply Chain, Pricing, and other corporate functions.
External: Auditors, Vendors, Managed Service Providers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
7 years of progressive experience in financial operations or reporting
5 years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
Exceptional technical and analytical skills, able to think creatively and develop new solutions.
Professional leadership skills, someone who can lead and inspire teams exhibiting the skills to understand team dynamics; able to lead under pressure. Ability to train/develop direct reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
Emotional intelligence to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, Data Warehouse tools).
Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Proven customer-facing skills and ability to resolve escalated issues.
Familiarity with governance frameworks, risk assessment, and compliance standards.
Experience in continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of processes.
Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.
Flexibility to work weekends or holidays if required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience at US Foods or in a shared services environment.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
Understanding of data governance frameworks and standards.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
