The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to join the team with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of design, budgeting, and construction of Water and Wastewater treatment plants. This includes design specifications and calculations, submittal drawings, assistance with bid, proposals, budgets, and estimating. This will be a hybrid role, based out of our Houston office.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Strong experience in process design of water and wastewater treatment plants, including biological treatment, mechanical treatment, and physicochemical treatment processes.
- Thorough understanding of engineering designs, layouts, and process piping, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation details.
- Background and experience with Regulatory agencies permitting process for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Oversee and review the development of the submittal, fabrication, and construction drawings.
- Work with recent graduates and other staff members to coordinate on the submittals, fabrication, and construction drawings.
- Prepare technical specifications and design calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, budgeting, and estimating.
- Occasional site visits to plant facilities.
- Act as a liaison with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, consultants, and contractors.
- Review local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for compliance.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Past experience with environmental regulations including TCEQ and other agencies.
- Experience with process treatment software including Biowin, GPS-X, and hydraulic analysis software.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Must be able to develop and make good use of process and instrumentation drawings.
- An intense motivation for professional growth and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work hybrid schedule (3 days per week in the office, required).
- Ability to travel as needed.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited university. Graduate level degree is preferred.
- Must have an Professional Engineering certification or be eligible to take and pass the required examination within six months.
- 5+ Years of experience working on Wastewater Treatment Plants or similar highly preferred.
