Job Description

• Overall coordination, planning and management of patient and family education related to breastfeeding. • Providing lactation consultation and education services. • Breastfeeding assistance, support and education to patients. • Hands-on lactation consultation services on an outpatient and inpatient basis. • Evaluating specific lactation problems by telephone and developing a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated. • Responsible for maintaining a pump rental station, supplies, and equipment related to the service.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant (certification may be required by entity and time to acquire dependent on qualifications for exam)
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
2 years recent relevant experience
Maternal-infant assessment skills.
Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks.
Written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
