Job Description
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of energy contracts, including execution, amendments, renewals, terminations, and ensuring compliance and timely delivery of obligations.
• Monitor adherence to federal, state, and local energy regulations and internal governance standards.
• Collaborate with Energy & Sustainability team to design contract strategies to optimize energy costs and mitigate risks.
• Identify and manage risks related to price volatility, supplier performance, and market changes and lead efforts to incorporate protective clauses where appropriate.
• Respond to counterparty inquiries and respond to issues as needed.
• Work cross functionally with finance, operations, and legal teams to align energy contracts with Switch corporate objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of all contracts, amendments, and performance metrics in centralized systems for audit readiness and operational transparency.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that provide insights into contract activity and key metrics.
• Monitor existing and new campus locations and tracking industry news and events that could impact power markets.
• Review and summarizing utility tariffs in existing and new locations.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business units with financial data and insights.
• Interact with market participants including utilities, energy retailers, trade associations, C&I buyers, and others, in market outreach, relationship development, and assessing and providing solutions to serve buyers' interest.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Minimum five years related work experience.
- Experience managing a portfolio of energy supply contracts.
- Exceptional data management skills with a proven ability to work with large datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Strong project management skills; advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Excellent analytical, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate, think creatively, and drive business teams to develop executable projects quickly.
- Proven history of collaboration, problem-solving, and communication that supports overall team success.
