Job Description

• Serve Native American survivors of domestic violence in family law matters. • Work with clients from advice to full litigation in civil cases in both State and Tribal Court. • Responsible for serving clients primarily in Northern Michigan. • Part of a joint project with Uniting Three Fires Against Violence and the larger CVLAP program.

Job Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan, qualified to be admitted by waiver, or able to take the next Michigan bar exam.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals and underserved populations through lived or learned experience.
  • Proficient with major software and web services including Word, Excel, G Suite.
  • Reliable internet connection.
  • Experience with issues impacting domestic violence survivors and/or Native American communities is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to transportation for client meetings, court hearings, and visits with Tribal Advocates.
