Job Description

Under the supervision of the Chief Partnership Officer, the Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for maintaining and increasing funding from mid-level to high-net-worth individuals and businesses through effective identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The primary objective is to build and serve a $1,000,000+ portfolio of major donors and strategic partners from current, lapsed, and new donors, effectively rescuing about 500 kids per year from the sex trade. This engagement will focus on identifying and deepening relationships with individuals, churches, foundations, and corporations. When possible, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will also be responsible for identifying and promoting planned giving opportunities with donors and referring them to subject-matter experts.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships plays a vital part in carrying out the mission of Destiny Rescue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize existing platforms and networks to promote awareness, funds, and talent for the organization.
  • Manage a fluid portfolio of approximately 120 - 150 qualified relationships and conduct a minimum of 15 meaningful meetings with donors per month;
  • Champion bringing mid-level donors to major donor status by identifying and building relationships with givers with greater capacity;
  • Apply a transformational approach to the portfolio, with a custom cultivation strategy for each donor; Develop compelling proposals and oversee the development of creative presentations, reports, and case-for-support;
  • Work collaboratively with the CPO to analyze portfolios and strategize upgrades;
  • Develop for-profit corporate partnerships and commercial co-ventures as requested
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of recognition/cultivation events for major donors;
  • Demonstrate a keen sense of curiosity for donors, seeking to “crack the code” of what compels each donor to give substantially by asking the right questions;
  • Be able to adapt as needed to meet donors' personal needs. Successfully align partner interests with the Destiny Rescue strategy and demonstrate a strong value proposition;
  • Speak on behalf of the organization at churches, conferences, events, etc.;
  • Support the development of relationships for the Artist Speaker Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Five years of paid nonprofit experience in individual donor development and major gift solicitation or equivalent experience.
  • Track record of annually bringing in over $1,000,000 from major donors (or sales).
  • Proven ability to build individual relationships and the skill to help those individuals find joy in making financial investments in rescuing kids and keeping them free.
  • Global & Cultural Awareness
  • Computer literacy skills and experience with donor databases.
  • Necessary Training/Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience Level: Experienced
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel; between 20%-40%
