Job Description

• Serve as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the Director of Immersion. • Step into senior leadership responsibilities when needed, ensuring continuity and stability for the Director of Immersion. • Contribute to long-term organizational planning and evolution of the Immersion department. • Build scalable systems and processes that support team growth and resilience. • Support and drive initiatives from Leadership by understanding purpose, translating to operations and delivery and achieving quality results. • Establish and support individualized growth plans for people leaders and their team members. • Track talent actions and progress while providing consistent feedback. • Continually strengthen capability across all professional services disciplines to drive proficiency. • Align project work with employee strengths, interests, and development goals. • Address performance challenges quickly with empathy and clarity, creating improvement plans as needed. • Refine and execute onboarding programs for new hires. • Develop and deliver ongoing training aligned with teams and individual needs. • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve the training library. • Identify and assign internal and external learning opportunities. • Understand Gordian’s Planning Services products, processes, and tools. • Support project and people leaders in establishing effective workflow systems. • Hold team members accountable for project milestones and deadlines. • Ensure team utilization meets departmental goals. • Support client relationships through data and deliverable quality assurance. • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure alignment and excellence. • Represent the department by contributing to executive presentations and member-facing events. • Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture. • Monitor morale and implement strategies to maintain engagement and motivation. • Celebrate successes, recognize contributions, and foster a sense of purpose across the team. • Instill company mission and values into day-to-day responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, M.Ed., Organizational Leadership, etc.) preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing people managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing people leaders, not just individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated success in building and executing training programs and professional development plans.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, with a strong understanding of service delivery and relationship management.
  • Ability to translate vision into strategy and strategy into action.
  • Skilled in succession planning, team scaling, and organizational design.
  • Experience in building followership by leading through change, ambiguity, and growth.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a balance of empathy and accountability.
  • Proficiency in workflow management, resource allocation, and project prioritization.
  • Familiarity with enterprise business tools (e.g., Salesforce/Certinia, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) to drive efficiency and track performance.
  • Experience in quality assurance and data accuracy across deliverables.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and executive presentations.
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with account managers, sales, HR, and leadership.
  • Deep commitment to employee growth, engagement, and fulfillment.
  • Experience in building inclusive, high-performing team cultures.
  • Ability to celebrate wins, foster morale, and align team values with company mission.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including site visits, client meetings, and team events.
  • Ability to walk customer environments for extended periods and occasionally work in outdoor conditions.
