Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a Principal ServiceNow Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Transportation.
- Perform implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development with ServiceNow ITSM application suite, and in identified specialty(ies).
- Responsible for the design of the DOT Service Management System (SMS) and supporting the SMS operations, to include engineers and the SMS development life cycle.
- Determine which integration method(s) will be used, integration directionality, and attributes.
- Participate in any data normalization required prior to being imported / inserted into ServiceNow.
- Participate in platform, process, and integration testing.
- Develop and maintain Discovery schedules, pattern usage and the role of other integrations.
- Fulfill role of Enterprise Integration Manager.
- Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and services.
- Deliver new functionality across applications.
- Manage and perform SMS development activities, supporting the entire development lifecycle.
- Apply SDLC and DevOps principles.
- Perform response and resolution for escalated SMS service requests and incidents.
- Assist the platform administrator with incident resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation providing support during non-business hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant IT experience, including at least 6 in administration services for a major Service Management System (SMS), preferably ServiceNow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science (CS), or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (6 years of experience in lieu of degree).
- Extensive knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and Integrations.
- Experience with the SNMP technologies that support Discovery Patterns.
- Experience with SOAP/REST-based API integrations.
- Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification.
- Current ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery (CIS-Disco) Certification.
