Job Description
What We Do
At Leading Educators (LE), we know that excellent teaching is the most important driver of student success. The moment a student steps foot in the classroom, their opportunity to learn depends on how prepared their teacher is to translate complex content knowledge, standards, and their knowledge of that student into lessons that help them learn deeply and apply their thinking to the real world.
That’s a big lift, and it often happens alone. As a national nonprofit, we partner with school systems to overcome persistent instructional challenges, foster intentional collaboration and adult learning by design, and ignite new possibilities through systemic solutions at the intersection of teaching, talent, and technology.
We work shoulder-to-shoulder with educators at every level of the education system to strengthen their instructional and leadership practices, bring a vision for excellent instruction to life with consistency, and ensure every student reaches their full potential.
Through direct support, strategic advising, innovation pilots, and best-in-class research, we help educators work toward a future where every student is ready to thrive. Learn more about our work at leadingeducators.org.
Internal & External Candidate Application Deadline: 3/11/2026
Position
At Leading Educators, we believe that excellent teaching transforms student outcomes. Our mission is to partner with school systems to sustain the teaching, leadership, and conditions for every student to succeed. Behind every successful hire that advances our mission is a seamless, well-orchestrated talent acquisition operation—and that's where you come in.
As Associate Director of Talent Acquisition Operations, you'll be the operational architect powering our recruiting and hiring engine. You'll own the systems, workflows, and processes that keep our talent acquisition moving with precision and consistency. From managing the recruiting intake desk to orchestrating complex hiring timelines, from coordinating pre-hire compliance to stewarding our contractor network, you'll ensure every hiring process runs smoothly and every candidate moves efficiently through our pipeline. This is the role for someone who thrives in building systems, solving operational puzzles, and taking pride in the behind-the-scenes excellence that makes everything else possible.
You'll partner closely with our Managing Director of People and Talent and Director of Talent Acquisition and Operations to continuously strengthen how we acquire talent. You'll also lead the charge in identifying opportunities to embed AI-enabled workflows into our recruiting operations, helping us work smarter and more efficiently. If you're energized by operational excellence, strategic thinking, and the chance to directly impact how we build our team, this role offers the perfect platform for your expertise.
Do you have expertise in…
- Designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end operational workflows and systems that manage complex, multi-stakeholder processes with precision and consistency
- Managing talent acquisition, HR operations, workforce planning, or program operations at scale—ideally with experience in K-12 education or education-focused nonprofit environments
- Using technology and AI tools to streamline workflows, improve documentation, enhance reporting, and drive operational efficiency
- Building and maintaining operational dashboards, reports, and tracking systems that translate data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making
Do you enjoy…
- Taking ownership of operational systems and processes, then continuously refining them to increase efficiency and reduce friction
- Juggling multiple priorities and concurrent workstreams while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy standards
- Serving as a trusted operational partner to leadership and hiring managers, providing clear communication and reliable follow-through
- Problem-solving on the fly—identifying recurring issues, surfacing patterns, and proposing thoughtful improvements to how work gets done
If you've answered affirmatively to these questions and meet the following prerequisites, we urge you to seize this opportunity. This role calls for the following:
- 5-7+ years of experience in HR operations, talent operations, workforce planning, or program operations roles that require managing complex operational systems
- Demonstrated experience executing workforce planning processes, staffing allocation management, or talent operations within K-12 education or education-focused nonprofit organizations
- Proven ability to manage workforce planning processes, staff allocation systems, resource planning tools, or operational capacity tracking across teams or projects
- Experience working with workforce planning tools, resource capacity tracking technology, or staffing allocation systems that support hiring and staffing decisions
- Track record of managing large operational cycles such as onboarding programs, performance management processes, or organizational review cycles
- Strong experience building and maintaining operational dashboards, reports, or tracking systems that support leadership decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders, shifting priorities, and detailed operational coordination
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy across multiple systems and operational processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present operational data and insights clearly to leadership

- All candidate materials—including applications, resumes, assessments, and interview feedback—are reviewed and evaluated by people. All hiring decisions, including interview selection, advancement, and offers of employment, are made by humans.
- We use AI solely as a support tool to assist with early-stage reviews and process efficiency. Our hiring practices are designed to be fair, consistent, and aligned with equal employment opportunity standards.
