Role Description

Right now, we need a Director of National Accounts for Albertsons to lead our business partnership with one of the World’s largest retailers. This person will need to reside in one of Albertsons major markets: Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Portland, OR.

This person will be responsible for leading & developing a team of National Account Managers & Analysts. The team will work cross functionally with our Marketing, Sales, Consumer/Category Insights, Finance, and Operations teams to add value, develop our partnership with Albertsons & maintain our partnerships with key distributors.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a National/Strategic Account Manager or 5+ years of experience in retail/consumer products sales (Direct Experience with Albertsons and 2+ Years of Team Leadership Preferred)
  • Thirst for knowledge & desire for continuous improvement
  • Bonus if background in beer &/or spirits, brewing processes, and 3 tier trade information
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally
  • Advanced presentation & communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Requirements

  • Works with our SVP of National Accounts to develop the partnership & sales strategy across Albertsons
  • Coaches and develops direct reports to grow their personal and professional capabilities to become experts on their business within their respective region or account base and trusted advisors with their external partners
  • Leads a team of account professionals to facilitate & conducts partnership calls with customers including business reviews, category solutions & programming presentations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for Pabst and its customers
  • Collaborates with Field Sales Team in order to increase the availability and drive execution across customers’ geographic reach
  • Identifies, evaluates, secures and executes sales opportunities by utilizing sales tools (IRI, Nielsen, VIP, Numerator)
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Shopper Insights to develop specific tactics & category solutions to maximize Pabst benefit and share of mind with external customers
  • Manages the communication of expectations and timelines amongst the customer and distribution partners including product release schedules, volume forecasts, pricing, distribution targets, and support materials
  • Conducts frequent surveys to ensure accurate pricing and programming is executed per quality standards
  • Develops annual budget plans by chain/account – tracks and reports progress regularly (weekly / monthly / quarterly / annually)
  • Performs administrative duties in a timely fashion, coordinates and participates in regularly scheduled sales meetings among distribution partners and internal staff and maintains/publishes updated account list including detailed communication history
  • Responsible for always maintaining a professional demeanor and presentation – including situations in which alcohol is present
  • Regular travel is required, up to 30%
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed
