This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel - REMOTE. In this role, you will have a profound impact on the renewable energy sector by providing essential legal support for our partner's rapidly expanding utility-scale energy storage business. You will be at the heart of various legal processes, working on complex project contracts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This position offers the chance to influence key projects and to collaborate with a talented team dedicated to driving forward a sustainable energy future. - Provide legal advice on construction, corporate and commercial law matters in support of the energy storage business unit in the United States
- Negotiate and draft EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, subcontractor agreements, long-term services agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, product warranties, performance guarantees and various other contracts
- Assist with all aspects of project management and project execution, including drafting legal notices, change orders, interpreting contract language and providing strategic and business-oriented advice
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution as needed
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders—including customers, vendors, EPCs, and utilities
- Coordinate and supervise outside counsel while balancing legal costs with business goals
Qualifications
- Strong academic credentials and licensed to practice law in the United States
- At least 5 years' experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and infrastructure contracts at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Experience working in the energy industry, ideally in renewable energy and/or energy storage
- In-depth understanding of United States renewable energy incentives (IRA tax credits) and compliance regulations (OBBBA)
- Knowledge of anti-dumping/countervailing duties (AD/CVD), tariffs generally, OFAC, CFIUS, UFLPA and other trade-related and regulatory matters
- Experience and willingness to lead negotiations of complex commercial contracts
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5–15% of the time
