Job Description

Head of Communications & Marketing

Location: Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.) — McLean, VA preferred
Clearance: Top Secret preferred
Employment Type: Full‑time
Posted By: MC3 Partners (Recruiting on behalf of a confidential client)

About the Role

MC3 Partners is supporting a confidential defense‑focused technology organization that delivers mission‑ready AI solutions for defense, intelligence, and critical‑infrastructure partners. The company helps national‑security stakeholders make better, faster decisions in complex environments, including travel, trade, and emerging global missions.

The organization is entering a period of significant brand, narrative, and market evolution. This role is a key leader in building a high‑performance, operational communications and marketing engine to support that transformation.

We are seeking a VP or Senior Director to lead enterprise‑wide Strategic Communications, Corporate Affairs, Marketing Operations, Government Affairs integration, Reputation Management, and the Investor‑level narrative.

This leader will run the operational communications and marketing function — not simply design brand strategy. The role requires speed, precision, and alignment across executives, product, sales, finance, and policy stakeholders.

What You’ll Lead

Strategic Communications & Corporate Affairs

  • Own internal and external strategic communications.
  • Drive a unified enterprise narrative across defense, intel, commercial, and investor audiences.
  • Lead crisis communications, risk affairs, and corporate reputation management.

Marketing & Growth Engine Leadership

  • Build and operationalize a scalable, metrics‑driven growth marketing function.
  • Translate corporate strategy and product strategy into execution.
  • Lead demand generation, content, messaging, and sales‑aligned marketing motions.
  • Ensure narrative consistency and high‑speed execution across all channels.

Government Affairs Integration

  • Align communications and GTM strategy with policy priorities, congressional direction, and national‑security missions.
  • Support positioning across regulated markets and federal acquisition environments.

Investor Narrative (in partnership with CFO)

  • Co‑own investor‑level messaging.
  • Ensure alignment across product strategy, brand identity, earnings‑related communication, and growth priorities.

Ideal Background

  • Experience in defense‑tech, aerospace, GovCon, national security, or intelligence‑adjacent sectors.
  • Proven ability to build and run a communications + marketing organization — not just design strategy.
  • Strong product‑marketing instincts and corporate‑affairs maturity.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity with high‑speed, high‑quality execution.
  • Direct communicator; mission‑oriented; operates with urgency.
  • TS clearance required.

Disclaimer

MC3 Partners is an equal opportunity recruiting firm. We are supporting a confidential client on this search. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or any other protected characteristic. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance are required.
