About the Role:

The position of Manager, Commercial Marketing will focus on driving commercial results for our artists and repertoire across digital service providers (DSP’s). This position will play a key role in identifying, pitching, and securing visibility as well as leading development and execution of on and off platform activations to drive consumption. Additionally, this role will help execute day-to-day account needs and responsibilities.

 

A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the DSP’s, opportunities in the digital music marketplace, exceptional communication and organizational skills, an understanding of the operational aspects of digital music distribution - along with passion for music, pop culture and technology. Strong relationships with DSP’s is required. Relationships with key players in the Latin genre and knowledge of the LATAM markets are a major plus. The Manager, Commercial Marketing reports to Director of Marketing.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and develop strong relationships with label relations, editorial, artist management, and marketing teams at top streaming partners to highlight new releases and ongoing priority projects
  • Use data and your knowledge of multiple genres, and music fans, to identify relevant opportunities for label priorities and craft compelling pitches to excite and engage partners
  • Assess and recap DSP visibility and campaigns to share with senior management and the other stakeholders
  • Manage and communicate the priority release schedule, priority release grids, and advance listen links (if applicable)
  • Work in partnership with marketing and cross-functional teams to help formulate overall global and domestic release strategy
  • Partner with other marketing specialties to develop and execute memorable, creative marketing initiatives on and off platform ideas to drive awareness and streams for a new release or relevant catalog
  • Provide senior management and stakeholders with regular streaming reports and insights, which may include market analysis, trends, opportunities
  • Oversee general account responsibilities such as coordinating artist profile updates, troubleshooting delivery issues or updating release information, and ensuring we are leveraging all commercial opportunities available on platform (i.e. merch bar or merch shelf)
  • Provide internal teams, artists and management with best practice and optimization recommendations, emerging trends
  • Partner with other marketing leads to build and launch playlists for both Cinq and Cinq artists, and help coordinate marketing support
  • Serve as lead / Cinq representative on frequent partner calls and presentations with accounts
  • Stay up to date on any new developments, trends, and/or opportunities with the DSP’s and share with wider team; be the DSP expert

  • Experience with e-commerce / merchandise marketing
  • Strong management skills with the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to translate analysis into actionable strategy
  • Knowledge of the digital media with an understanding of how it influences and moves popular culture
  • In depth knowledge of all social media platforms and analytics and streaming services
  • Broad knowledge of music, independent record labels and artist managers
  • Track record of managing productive relationships with independent labels, artists and artist managers
