Job Description

• The Director of Business Operations is a highly cross-functional leadership role responsible for optimizing and scaling business operations across the gym organization. • This position serves as a critical connector between member experience, backend operations, field leadership, compliance, and strategic initiatives. • This leader brings hands-on experience within the gym industry, including member retention strategies, operational workflows, and systems that support both frontline teams and corporate functions. • The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is a self-starter who can take direction, conduct research, and independently execute initiatives from concept to completion. • Support and enhance member experience and retention strategies. • Evaluate operational processes that impact the member lifecycle, from onboarding through retention and cancellation. • Partner with Member Services and field teams to ensure consistent, high-quality member interactions. • Collaborate closely with the Learning & Development team to ensure field resources—including SOPs, processes, playbooks, and training materials—are accurate, current, and operationally aligned. • Identify operational gaps and opportunities for training enhancements across the field. • Partner with the Member Services team to ensure compliance with membership agreements and personal training contracts. • Maintain working knowledge of gym management systems. • Support audit readiness and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements. • Act as a strategic partner to field leaders to drive adoption of operational changes and new initiatives. • Support change management efforts by clearly communicating expectations, timelines, and impacts to field teams. • Assist with project management across multiple operational initiatives. • Ensure cross-functional alignment and execution against strategic priorities. • Track progress, identify risks, and recommend solutions to maintain momentum. • Work with external vendors and partners to integrate services into the overall operational and member experience strategy. • Ensure vendor processes align with internal standards, brand expectations, and operational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in the gym or fitness industry, preferably in operations, member experience, or multi-unit leadership
  • Strong understanding of gym operations, member retention, and backend systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey priorities across multiple departments
  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Comfortable taking direction, researching solutions, and executing independently.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Ability to work in a gym setting; move about club floors and rooms; communicate with employees, members, and vendors.
  • Ability to access and operate Company computer system including prepare documents, enter data into computer system, read reports from a computer database or email system.
