Job Description
The Associate Dean of Faculty (ADOF) for General Education supports University Studies and University Seminar courses—with a strong emphasis on faculty mentorship, student success, and academic engagement. This role directly supports a rapidly growing student population and works closely with faculty to ensure an exceptional academic experience.
This position requires high student and faculty outreach, with intense activity during the first two weeks of each session. Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced environment, detailed tracking responsibilities, and proactive communication.
What You’ll Do
As our Associate Dean, you will have a meaningful impact on program quality, student outcomes, and faculty success. Key responsibilities include:
Faculty Management & Support
- Oversee all visiting professors
- Serve as primary support to faculty for course delivery, compliance, engagement, and expectations.
- Conduct daily outreach to faculty; phone calls are required for timely communication.
- Mentor faculty, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to academic policies.
- Participate in onboarding new Visiting Professors, including daily roundtables and support during early sessions.
- Partner with course leads and full-time faculty to ensure consistency across University Seminar offerings.
Student Success & Escalation Management
- Handle escalations from students and provide timely resolution.
- Assist with monitoring student engagement and success.
- Support and track early student progress, particularly during the first two weeks of each session.
- Conduct selective student outreach by phone as needed.
- Host Welcome Webinars and other engagement opportunities.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed data tracking for faculty, student engagement, and course performance.
- Support faculty and academic operations across multiple time zones.

Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral degree, preferably in Education
Professional Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development at the baccalaureate level or higher.
- Minimum 2 years of online teaching experience.
- Previous leadership experience (required).
- Higher education leadership experience (preferred).
- Experience in curriculum development and curriculum management (preferred).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with online instructional technologies and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to use a variety of technology applications that support teaching, learning, and student services.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time‑management, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and institutional leadership.
- Ability to lead, guide, mentor, and support faculty.
Licensure & Certification
- For programs requiring professional licensure, candidates must hold the appropriate license.
- For programs requiring additional certification to practice, candidates must hold the relevant certification.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
