JOB MISSION:
The Trackster is responsible for being the New Balance face of brand with their local community and their local specialty retail account base. Our team member will be able to successfully execute product training, educational, promotional, and merchandising tasks for footwear, apparel, and accessories at running specialty and/or sporting goods accounts. This role is responsible for building strong business relationships with store owners, managers, and retail sales associates to drive sell through on NB products.
The Trackster is an integral part of growing brand awareness and stimulating end-consumers to try the products in their local communities. The role acts as a brand ambassador for New Balance with their local run clubs, fitness ambassadors and other athletic minded individuals and will be tasked with setting up try on events and other community activations. The Trackster team is fully equipped to make an impact through championing the brand in their local communities as well as through in person account visits and national trainings with a focused approach and direction.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Align with national strategy and brand goal directives from leadership.
Act as brand ambassadors connecting with athletes and fitness enthusiasts in the local community to host events and conduct product demos.
Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with retail store sales staff and management.
Educate and train staff members on current New Balance footwear and apparel offerings at the doors on your account list (product education clinics, sales floor hours).
Work nationally sponsored events such as New York Marathon, The Brooklyn Half Marathon and New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Nationals.
Stay current on industry trends, products, and communications.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
Two to three years of retail or sales experience required and athletic participation a plus.
Prefer run specialty or sporting goods retail experience. Highly connected to the running channel; previous participation in races and expos is desired.
Excellent communication & presentation skills are required.
Frequent travel and working on weekends.
Must be able to lift and carry sample bags or promotional event displays weighing up to 30 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable (as defined by NBAS auto insurance policy) driving record are required.
This is a remote position based in Michigan.
