Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic National Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business plans for our national retail accounts, with a focus on maximizing revenue growth and profitability. Your expertise in sales strategies and account management will be essential in strengthening our market presence and driving brand awareness across key retail channels.

  • Account and Broker Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key national accounts and our broker network.
    • Understand needs, objectives, and challenges while developing strategies to drive growth.
    • Work to remove roadblocks and resolve conflict as required.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth
    • Achieve sales targets and revenue goals for the national accounts while adhering to an annual trade budget.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling, optimizing products or services.
    • Negotiate contracts/pricing and develop joint sales plans.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with the company and retailer overall business objectives.
    • Develop growth opportunities and create action plans to achieve those objectives throughout the year.
    • Partner with the demand planning team to meet the forecast targets and to meet the customer's needs for product availability.
  • Communication and Coordination
    • As the primary point of contact, work cross-functionally to drive business plans inclusive of: category management, marketing, product development, finance, logistics and customer service to coordinate efforts on achieving company and retailer goals.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Analyze sales data, market trends, and other relevant information (including but not limited to, Account POS, Syndicated Data (IRI/Nielsen), Shopper Insights, etc...) to make informed decisions and recommendations.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying and presenting opportunities for improvement/key learnings, and using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and achieve better results.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead by example to set the standard for performance, professionalism and teamwork.
    • Create an environment that encourages motivation. Set clear goals and performance expectations, manage results, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
    • Champion and share best practices across cross-functional teams to strengthen collaboration and support internal operations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years consumer packaged goods experience including regional, corporate, or national account and/or Category Management.
  • Bachelor degree highly preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in working directly with Senior Level Management within a client’s headquarters.
  • Highly customer focused with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong and proven leadership skills.
  • Experience building, managing, and mentoring a dedicated team.
  • Strong cross-functional exposure / experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects against deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customers - Aldi and Sam's Club experience a plus.
  • Candidates located in Central US region preferred.

Job Requirements
