Frontier Psychiatry was founded by Montana psychiatrists who saw their neighbors waiting months—or driving hours—for specialized mental health care. To meet the needs of the rural communities we call home, we built Frontier—a secure telepsychiatry practice that allows patients to access high-quality psychiatric and therapeutic care from home, without referrals, and with most insurance plans accepted. Appointments are typically 60 minutes, with some 30-minute visits available based on clinical need.

Job Description

Why This Role Exists

Frontier Psychiatry was founded by Montana psychiatrists who saw their neighbors waiting months—or driving hours—for specialized mental health care.

To respond to the needs of the rural communities we call home, we built Frontier: a secure telepsychiatry practice so patients in Montana, Idaho, and Alaska can see high-quality psychiatric providers from home.

As Frontier grows, expanding access requires strong referral relationships and local market presence.

To achieve our aggressive growth goals through 2026, we are transitioning from a high-cost travel model to localized growth engines in key markets. This Outreach Coordinator will serve as a territory-based business development lead, building referral partnerships and expanding Frontier’s presence across Alaska.

By establishing local relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, and community organizations, this role helps ensure patients who need psychiatric care know where to turn—and can access care faster.

What You’ll Do

Provider & Referral Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referring providers, clinics, hospitals, schools, employers and other behavioral health organizations
  • Educate healthcare partners on Frontier Psychiatry’s services, referral process, and patient access model
  • Serve as the primary local contact for providers seeking psychiatric referrals for their patients
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with healthcare partners to strengthen referral pathways
  • Attend conferences, health fairs, networking groups and other events as necessary

Territory Growth & Business Development

  • Identify strategic, high-volume referral opportunities to expand Frontier’s referral network across Alaska
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase awareness and utilization of Frontier’s services
  • Track referral activity and identify opportunities for growth within the territory
  • Support expansion into new communities, healthcare systems, and provider networks

Community Engagement

  • Represent Frontier Psychiatry at healthcare events, provider meetings, and other community gatherings
  • Build relationships with local healthcare leaders, clinics, and organizations that serve rural populations
  • Promote awareness of telepsychiatry as a solution for improving behavioral health access

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with leadership, operations, and clinical teams to align outreach efforts with patient capacity and service lines
  • Communicate insights from the field, including referral trends, provider needs, and market opportunities
  • Support improvements to referral workflows and provider onboarding processes

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activity and referral relationships
  • Provide regular territory updates including growth opportunities, barriers, and competitive insights
  • Track performance metrics related to outreach and referral development

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • A growing network of referring providers across your territory to include both small and large volume referral accounts
  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities with a high volume of weekly outreach to include phone, email, meetings and follow up
  • Increased patient referrals and visit volume from Alaska
  • Strong, trusted relationships with healthcare partners
  • Clear communication between referring organizations and Frontier’s internal teams
  • Sustainable, localized growth that supports Frontier’s long-term expansion goals

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, public health, or related field preferred
  • Experience in healthcare business development, provider relations, medical sales, or healthcare outreach strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and organizations
  • Strong communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage territory-based outreach efforts with strong time management
  • Willingness to travel locally within Alaska to meet with providers and community partners

What We Offer

We believe expanding access to mental health care requires investing in the people who build those connections.

  • 100% remote work
  • 120 hours of paid vacation
  • 40 hours of sick time
  • Your birthday off with pay
  • 9.5 paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 100% employer-paid employee-only premiums for medical, dental, vision, and accidental insurance
  • HSA plan option
  • Stock options
  • Company-provided equipment

Our Commitment

Frontier Psychiatry is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and ethical  team. We value those who practice with integrity, compassion, and respect—for patients, community partners and for themselves.
